Sometimes real isn't the best way to go...

Our traditional love for dolls comes from our own upbringing, where playing with a doll didn't have so much controversy attached to it.

A time where play was wholesome and a key part in learning. Which it still is, it's just the variation of play that has evolved, when it comes to the types and range of toys.

No doubt over the years toys have evolved. Not necessarily for the better though. But bearing that in mind, a video that has been making its way around TikTok has caused a bit of a stir.

The video shows a person holding what looks like a newborn baby. The scary part was when the baby's head just bobs back as the person fails to hold the child in a supportive manner.

But then as you scroll you notice the hashtags that have been populated to the bottom part of the video. Which say, "#DOLLS #BABIES #FAKEBABY"

Then the dots come together, and we realise that this is actually a doll. A fake baby!

It is absolutely concerning as to how real this baby looks. But we sighed a breath of relief when we heard that the baby was in fact a doll.

This is the most bizarre part of it all for us. The creator posted a comment saying that they did not expect the video to blow up the way it did.

It was revealed that the baby is actually a lifelike Artist Doll. The TikToker actually makes these dolls for a living. They are used in movies, shows, and even collected by art enthusiasts.

She went on to say, "Those who love babies, angel mothers etc etc. this baby is £5,500 gbp. They are not cheap and cost a lot of money to make😅" (TikTok)

That's a whopping R110,605.00 for a lifelike doll. As much as we can admit this isn't something we feel comfortable buying for our kids, it does answer questions about movies, when we wonder how that baby is being so obedient.
