WATCH: Parkhill boy gets featured in an international video inspiring world peace
Updated | By East Coast Radio
In a time where we all could use some inspiration, children from all over the world bring the message of peace to us...
Liam Joyce is described as a shy young man by his mother, Shayelynne. But she said that when they decided to submit a video that would be a tribute to encourage hope and peace, made by children from all around the world, she helped him feel comfortable by shooting his snippet at home.
The task was to say the word "Peace" in your native language. Liam was the only child to have featured in the clip from South Africa, and was extremely excited when he saw himself in the video compilation.
"The Hiroshima Peace Movement was looking for children from all over the world to feature in the clip. The clip may be used in the 2020 Olympics this year which had been delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic." Shayelynne told North Glen News.
We then received a notification that the video was live on YouTube. We were so excited to see Liam and he was so thrilled as well. He started shouting, ‘yay, I won the Olympics’.- Shayelynne Joyce

Liam was so happy about featuring in such an inspirational video, he told North Glen News: "It was cool. I watched it 100 times. I am so excited."
We completely agree with his mum who spoke about the fact that it is truly inspiring watching the video of children from around the world sharing their messages of peace. It couldn't have come at a better time for both South Africans and the world, as we pick ourselves up from the recent violence that has left many people deflated.
