WATCH: Mom uses bracelet tracker to keep eye on kids
Updated | By East Coast Radio
A mother shares that her twins are starting school, so she posts a video of what she does to keep track of them...
Life is full of critics and they come in all forms. But one thing that they do best is judge and we notice that they come in full force on social media. We assume it's because of the supposed anonymity that comes with social media?
We saw this coming as soon as we watched a mother on TikTok share a video of how she was preparing for her twins starting school. The truth is, before you watch it, remember that parents have had to up their game when it comes to caring for their kids these days. With the advancements in almost everything, so too comes the advancements in crime.
When we first saw parents using leashes in malls and busy public spaces, we were not sure how we felt about this. It looked harsh, symbolic of so many things that we didn't necessarily agree with. But then just like Carol Ofori says, when you become a parent you realise that you cannot judge another parent.
There are things that only you as a parent to your child will understand and to compare situations is in itself an injustice to both you and your child.

While Katie placed these devices in the bracelets as a safety measure, firstly we think it's quite counterintuitive because she has now shared with everyone on a public level, even potential criminals, how to find her kids.
"She said she does it so that she knows her kids are safe, but while some thought it was a great idea, others commented on the video to say she had gone too far. One even said that it could place the children in more danger, as the location devices could be picked up by other iPhones and so other people could locate her children with ease if they wanted to." But some mothers came in fully supporting her: "We sewed one into the liner of daughter's backpack. Also one into the tongue of her shoe too."
While another said: "Why are the kids who grew up without all this are now the parents doing this to their kids. It's sad."
To which Katie replied: "Because we have trauma from being attacked as a child with no way to contact our parents so we want to protect our children with a resource the prior."
She posted the below video as a response to one of the comments received. (Courtesy of TikTok):
