A couple test their endurance in the KAP sani2c mountain bike race and then take the plunge into marriage...
An Edenvale couple who have been together for 13 years decided to participate in the KAP sani2c mountain bike race. The race takes place over three days and happens in the south-eastern part of KwaZulu-Natal.
"The event begins on a small sheep farm near the country’s mother of all mountain passes, the Sani Pass in the southern Drakensberg." (Sani2c)
The race is known for its exceptional route and scenic views, but also provides for the community. "Since inception, the race has involved and provided for communities, including schools, charities, rural populations, and entrepreneurs along the route." (Sani2c)
Just hearing about the beauty that you get to experience during this race, we are not surprised that this couple, Attie and Marinda, decided to tie the knot after they completed the race together.
Romantic, right?
The couple finished the race in 783 out of 940 teams, but we're certain they felt like they came out first this past week. Marinda Bootsma and Attie Tiley wanted to take part in the race in 2020 but due to the lockdown, their plans had to wait.
Marinda said that her now-husband, Attie, always spoke of a small, intimate wedding and never wanted the "big hoo-ha". He wanted something small but epic. (News24)
The couple decided to get married after the race at the Scottsburgh Golf Club overlooking the beach. They wore themed cycling outfits that had graphics depicting a wedding dress for Marinda and a bow tie suit vibe for Attie.
This is certainly a unique way of getting hitched, we wish the couple all the best on this new journey.
