WATCH: "I was harassed about my outfit and escorted off the plane by police tonight"

Imagine being kicked off a plane because of the outfit you were wearing...
Freedom of expression is so important, but when it comes to being comfortable in your own skin and being accepted for that, sometimes there is disconnect in society.
Body positivity is fast becoming the main messaging when it comes to women (and men) and appreciating their bodies holistically. And the premise being that no matter how you look, whatever size you are, whether your ears or pierced or whether you have the longest eyelashes, you should embrace your body for its worth in its entirety.
No one should be given the power to make you feel like you are not worthy, and if someone does, then they should be held accountable for their actions. On the same page though, it's not easy to work in the service industry when it comes to pleasing all your customers, because, ultimately, everyone has their own mind and belief system.
The main thing is to make sure that you are not infringing on someone's right to expression and choice. This was not the case for a woman who was recently flying with an American Airline called, Alaska Airlines. She was approached by a flight attendant who told her that she was dressed inappropriately.

It is apparent that she was wearing a crop top that showed off her stomach, which obviously made some people, including the staff, uncomfortable. And as much as there is a dress policy, she abided by it and still got escorted off the plane, and that too, in front of her child.
Body shaming is real, but when it comes to publicly humiliating someone because of what they are wearing or how they look, that is not humane. There is always another way of looking at something, another approach to apply, that is why it's so important to practice the pause. Sometimes when you take a moment to think, it can make all the difference.
The video has received lots of attention. People were upset with the way the airline handled this situation and kept asking for a response. But no response was given. Check out the follow up video that she posted showing what she was wearing.
