WATCH: Fishermen to the rescue as sharks get caught in fishing nets
Updated | By East Coast Radio
When kindness extends across human and animal lines, it really gives us chills...
Fishing is notorious to our coastal towns. It is something that both connects us as a community whilst also being the main source of income for many people. So when you see this community coming together and showing their unity in helping sea life, it's truly amazing.
But let us just say that this was no ordinary act of kindness. These fisherman gathered to help sharks that got caught in the fishing nets. There were several sharks that got trapped in the nets that were filled with yellowtail fish at the popular Cape Town surfing spot Surfers Corner in Muizenberg yesterday.
In all the mayhem, a seagull is seen swooping in to grab a fish and then we see fishermen start to approach the predators. Can we just stop to acknowledge how brave these men were for putting their lives in danger?!
After all, these weren't the sharks from PingFong's Baby Shark series...
On the real, they were literally centimetres away from these sharp-toothed sharks that could've reacted in a number of ways.

As the group try to free the sharks, it is clear that they are also afraid that things may take a turn for the worst. Nevertheless, they try their best and even manage to steer the sharks towards the deeper ocean...
As much as we may be scared, well, who can blame us, besides seeing what these predators are capable of, there's movies such as 'Jaws' and 'The Shallows'... which, let's be honest, don't paint these guys as friendly as Sharkie from 'Sharkie and George'.
But it's all well, and certainly ends well...
