What's the craziest thing you have found on your Christmas Tree?
One of the best parts of Christmas time is the tree, the decorating, the lights, the act of bringing the family together. There's something special and comforting about having a tree during the festive season.
We pin it to the fact that decorations have a way of uplifting the mood. It doesn't just bring brightness to the room, but has a sentimental upliftment, it reminds us of this time of year and how everyone wants to share in the decorations, the charm, and the warmth of the Christmas tree.
Even slithery snakes need some Christmas loving and this one really got comfortably coiled into the Christmas tree of a family in the Western Cape. They did the wise thing of calling snake rescuer, Gerrie Heyns.
"The snake’s green colouring enabled it to camouflage itself amongst the branches of the Christmas tree. Its movements were what notified the homeowners of the unwanted visitor." (MSN)

Since Christmas is known as a time for surprises, Heyns admitted that when he saw the pics of the snake, he was shocked and surprised as he had never seen anything like this before.
Now this is a first for me! They sent me two photos and I couldn’t believe my eyes! Yes…A Boomslang in their Christmas tree!- Gerrie Heyns
He took the chance to share some cool information about snakes. He said that many people think that snakes will bite you in a small surface area, but in fact the fangs are located behind the snake's eyes and they can actually open their mouths wide.
"Heyns said that the species can actually open their mouths to 170 degrees and can bite you on your chest so this is not a snake you want to be bitten by." (MSN)
