Utah passes bills into law restricting children's access to social media
Do you think that this should be a stock standard law across the world?
Social media has definitely become something of an obsession for many people.
Especially for those who are under the age of 18.
As you know, children's brains are still developing, and the addictive nature that comes with consuming social media can be damning.
Not to mention the dangers that come with underage social media use.
So, when we heard that Utah Governor, Spencer Cox, signed two bills into law that restrict social media use for children, we kind of hip-hip-hoorayed.
"Under the legislation, which takes effect next year, social media companies have to verify the ages of all users in the state, and children under age 18 have to get permission from their parents to have accounts." (MSN)

If you're a parent and you have a child who has been captured by the social media bug, then you must agree on some level that this should be a requirement.
And we are absolutely shocked that it has taken this long for any lawmaker to exercise their right to restrict access to kids younger than 18.
This is especially true with the array of dangers that it presents to kids. Not just in terms of predators lurking online, but also the mental effects that too much social media has on any person.
