#ThankfulTuesday: Solar-powered tricycle helps woman run her business in Zimbabwe

You see switching to sustainable energy resources is the best answer to everything...
Happy Women's Day!
As much as we love to support small businesses run by women, it has become more and more difficult for women in rural communities to make ends meet.
In fact we can agree that it has been difficult for all who run their own businesses. But there is a lot to be thankful for, and one of those things is sustainable energy sources.
So as a way of showing our support to women in business, we wanted to share a story of a Danai Bvochora.
She is from Zimbabwe and is a poultry farmer. But for years she has had to travel using the minibus to the market to sell her eggs, which was proving to be less than profitable for her.
When you think of rural business women nowadays, there is a renewed sense of independence that they hold. Of course, these women have been the pinnacle leaders of their families but have rarely received the accolades they so richly deserve.
For Bvochora, it is the fact that no longer does she have to spend her time and money on traveling with a minibus.
She now has access to a solar-powered tricycle that allows her to load her eggs onto the trailer and journey off to the market, which is 8km away.
A single trip to the local business centre to buy chicken feed would cost her $12.
"But charging her new solar-powered vehicle sets her back only $2.50 every two weeks, and the mother of two is now making a profit." (MSN)
Bvochora is just one of the many women who have been impacted positively by this mobile initiative, which was put forward by Mobility for Africa disruptors.
