#ThankfulTuesday: Jars of Hope by eight-year-old Reece leaves us grateful
A simple decision to help.
We heard about a young boy who has taken it upon himself to help those that have been affected by the recent KZN flooding.
Reece Prinsloo from Highbury Preparatory told his mom how terrible he was feeling when he heard about the amount of people who lost so much during the floods.
So he asked his mother if he could make Jars of Hope. The concept of these jars was introduced to many people last year during the KZN riots.
The Robinhood Foundation were asking people to take an emptied out coffee jar or peanut butter jar and fill it with dried lentils, soup mix, stock cube, and rice.
So Reece went on to do this and then further challenged his classmates to do the same.
Last week, he managed to come up with 16 Jars of Hope, which will be able to feed an estimated 160 children.
Project Hope SA has thanked this young man for his kindness and drive to contribute. And has also challenged other schools to beat his contribution.
