Steve Harvey apologises for employee's negative tweet
Updated | By East Coast Radio
Throwing shade at other comedians is not his vibe at all...
We know Steve Harvey to be a man of integrity, a man who says it like it is and isn't afraid to be honest about where he comes from.
And now, amidst rumours of his wife Marjorie allegedly cheating on him, it doesn't rain, it pours for poor Steve.
He posted a video last Friday on Twitter/X apologising to his community after one of his employees on his Twitter/X team posted something inappropriate and totally off brand.
“Somebody that works for me on my Twitter put a statement out that was totally negative.
“I gotta take responsibility for it ’cause they work for me, but the engagement was talking about, ‘Name a comedian you don’t think is funny.’" (IOL)
Of course, it is not on point for him to be associated with any negativity, as his brand has always been about positivity.

We asked our resident funny man, Rory Petzer what he thought about the whole situation and this is what he had to say.
I’ve often seen that question posted on social media and I’ve also found it to be destructive. And the worst part is that social media users then tag the comedian they don’t think is funny. And then a whole lot of people will hop on and turn the comment into a string of vitriol. Comedy is subjective and we don’t all find the same people funny. Yeah, it’s not necessary. Rather tag your favourite comedian. Go on, tag me! You know you wanna!- Rory Petzer

We were pleased to see that people were not dark in the messages (well, mostly). Check out some of the comments.
Steve, it’s a small hiccup but an important lesson. Consistency matters, especially when someone else holds the mic for you. Your brand has always been about uplifting others; this is just a reminder to make sure everyone on your team gets that memo. #BrandAlignment

Don’t fire them Steve, just hold them accountable and let it be a teaching tool. Especially, if they have never done anything like that before.

Steve @IAmSteveHarvey you don't need to be angry or upset. Your creditibility is good with the viewers. We know this isn't something you would say or do. I like for you to focus on understanding why this person did it, hug them and tell them, you love them. Help them at their low
