A woman who is driven by living an inspirational legacy for young athletes...
Today, Carol Ofori celebrates one of the SPAR Proteas netball players, Precious Mthembu, as her Woman Crush Wednesday.
Not only is Mthembu a qualified teacher by profession, but she is also a coach and has her hands deep-rooted in community upliftment.
With a host of achievements to her name, she also has been part of two Netball World Cups and two Commonwealth Games. Having been with the SPAR Proteas since 2006, she is now the brand ambassador for the SPAR Women's Race KZN and is the founder and head coach of the BSS Stars Netball Club.
BSS Stars Netball Club is a township sports initiative that aims to teach young at-risk girls necessary life skills and encourage education through netball.
This initiative is sustained by the recycling of pre-loved sports equipment for children from low-income households.
Mthembu is also involved in donating training gear and equipment to young players who come from disadvantaged communities.
