SA man praises Eskom for igniting his creativity

South Africans are known for their resilience, always finding a silver lining even in the toughest times.
Sure, we have our moments of frustration – complaining, venting, and questioning our circumstances – but time and again, we rise above it all.
This resilience was recently put to the test when many communities were left without water – beyond those already accustomed to regular water shedding and supply cuts.
To make matters even worse, load shedding made an unwelcome return.
Being without water and electricity is not a happy combination. Yet, instead of waiting for a silver lining, some South Africans chose to create their own, proving once again that optimism and ingenuity thrive even in adversity.
Many might say they are no longer fazed by water and load shedding because they've got backup plans in place to lessen the impact of being left in the dark without running water.
However, these resources can only go so far, leaving everyone at the government's mercy. One man reminded us that sometimes, the best remedy is simply choosing to see things in a positive light.
While many people have prepared for load shedding with battery-powered lights, uninterruptible power supply devices, and gas stoves, countless others still find themselves sitting in darkness – or worse, without a warm meal – when the power goes out.
