SHOCKING: Boys will be boys, this little boy gives himself a haircut!
Updated | By East Coast Radio
We can relate to that saying, "Boys will be boys" especially when it comes to unauthorised haircuts...
A little boy got a hold of a pair of scissors, and then we're sure you can imagine what happened next. No, it's nothing morbid. He just used it to cut his hair, and let's say, it wasn't the best of haircuts.
A mom, Mollie Thomas, in the United Kingdom was left outraged and in disbelief that her 4-year-old son managed to get his hands on a pair of scissors and escaped to the toilet, only to cut off a big chunk of his hair.
Mollie shared her feelings with the teacher and the head of the school, ‘I couldn’t believe it. When I collected him his teacher was there with the headteacher, and I looked at his teacher and said “are you going to tell her (the head) how many times he’s been left unattended to cut his own hair?”
Can you imagine leaving your child in the care of someone else, and that too a reputable school, only to find out that they were negligent with your child.
The school stands towards independent learning and allowing children to learn through play and making mistakes, but under a safe and supervised environment. The mom is annoyed that this is the fifth time this occurred, and no one from the school is taking responsibility for their lack of supervision in this case.
She thinks about the what if's in this case, and it scares her; what if he had hurt himself, let alone another child.
"Mollie says the scissors used are advertised with the warning: Children under the age of 10 must be supervised while using." (Metro) She went on to say that had she sent her son to school with his hair looking like it did, the school would have reported her to safeguard, which we think is the equivalent to social services.
