We are the generation of pictures; there's no doubt about that. In a world where taking a snap or a photograph could earn you big money, everyone is out to create a story on their timelines.

But it's important to remember that getting the right angle for your selfie can sometimes be dangerous.

A woman, reportedly said to be a social media influencer in her 20s, passed away as a result of the need to take the perfect selfie. The woman gathered with many others to watch the 'Empress', a historic steam engine officially known as the Canadian Pacific 2816.

In the video shared to X, a crowd gathered to see the steam train. Many of them stood quite close to the train tracks.

The woman, who is seen wearing an orange top, positions herself dangerously close to the train tracks to capture a selfie. But her attempt instantly ends in tragedy as the train hits her.

She immediately falls to the ground and is motionless. She was with a child whilst attempting to take the selfie, but luckily, he was seen falling back as soon as the train struck her.

They also said that all spectators should remain at least 10m away from the train and the tracks for their safety and the safety of others.
