Food brings people together, regardless of what type of food it is, it can create a warmth inside of you that nothing else quite fulfils.

An Indian snack that has always been popular on the streets of India hit South Africa years ago and has become something of a secret pleasure for many.

Pani Puri. A deep-fried hollow donut ball traditionally filled with potato, onion, chickpea, tamarind paste and mint and dhania water for that extra zing.

But food has evolved over the years, what was once traditional has taken a journey into the world of 'fusion'. Fusion refers to the mixing of conventional foods with modern-day fillings or ingredients.

This time it was the humble pani puri.

A woman took motivation from the Ice cream sandwich and added ice cream to a pani puri. To make it extra, she said she would add chocolate sauce and sprinkles.

@indiancurryqueens Ice-cream pani puri is so damm delicious!! Crispy, crunchy puri, filled with ice-cold creaminess! Personally, I would also add chocolate sauce and unicorn sprinkles... but that's just me 😂 Obviously, mum had no patience for my suggestions 🙄 #sobhnas #😍❤️ #icecream #panipuri ♬ original sound - Sobhnas
