PARENTING: Would you throw your child into a pool as a test?
Updated | By East Coast Radio
We can't all share the same views when it comes to parenting, can we?
There are different forms of parenting, we can agree to that.
Sometimes, as much as people use social media to express themselves, it doesn't come without opinion, which isn't always popular.
In this case, it was an unpopular opinion to the fact that this mother willingly threw her baby into a swimming pool for a surprise float test.
Which actually means that you throw your baby into a pool of water and wait for them to float...
What you don't know if you are just watching this without context, is that the baby was in fact attending swimming lessons.
The aim behind this test is to see if the training actually prepared the child to react in an emergency situation.

The video has been viewed over 75-million times and many people took their chance to pick on the mother, Simone Christensen, for 'traumatising' her child.
But sometimes things aren't just face value. The mother in fact has been sending her daughter for swimming lessons prior to her taking the test for a whole five months.

The thing we forget is that as much as we may have opinions, it doesn't equate to slandering someone's capability of being a good parent.
Because being a good or bad parent is a matter of subjectivity, and honestly the only people that can actually attest to that are in fact the children. So instead of sitting and hiding behind a profile, lets choose to be informed before being judgmental.
