PARENTING: When kids teach parents what's right from wrong... Can you relate?
Updated | By East Coast Radio
Have you ever experienced that moment of teaching from your kid?
Of course there are those moments when we think to ourselves, how in the world do our kids know this much? Like, is there a school that they go to before coming to us? Sounds ridiculous but they are far too smart for little people that have that little life experience.
If you have any theories, please share them with us. But for now, let's appreciate the beauty of their innocence, their innate goodness, and purity. It definitely reminds us to be good examples because you know the popular saying, "Lead by example".

So when we saw this video of a little girl reminding her father of the concept of sharing, it really got us thinking about how some of us behave as parents. Of course, this is just one of those life lessons that some of us missed out on, but it really is an eye opener.
It was recently Halloween, and many people follow the tradition of trick-or-treating, which is something many children in the USA engage in. Basically, kids get dressed up in costumes and walk around their neighbourhoods, knocking on doors and receiving candy.
Of course, the tradition, is to ask the person who answers the door, "Trick or Treat". The "trick" refers to a threat, usually idle, to perform mischief on the homeowner(s) or their property if no treat is given.
In this particular case, instead of it being a teachable moment for the child, it was one for the parent who abused his power in this circumstance. A little girl went out trick-or-treating and came to a house that had a bowl of candy that was unattended.

She proceeds to take some and walk away and the doorbell camera captures the moment her father comes back and checks if she has taken all of the candy. He obviously was taking advantage of the fact that no one was looking as a means to empty out the candy bowl.
But what happens next is absolutely endearing, this little girl shows us that she clearly knows right from wrong, unlike her father. We hope that this reminds all of us as parents of the simple understanding of following what we teach and what we know to be wrong...
