Happy New Year, everybody! There's nothing quite like celebrating the new year with family and being around kind, loving, and positive energies. So in honour of the new year, Carol Ofori wanted to share some of her traditions with you.

There has always been a big hoo-ha around new years resolutions. But with those resolutions comes the responsibility to make sure that you are making time to accomplish them. Many people aren't specific enough or tend to be overambitious when making their resolutions.

Which ends up in them going through the year not really focusing on accomplishing them but rather reacting to all the other things that life has a way of serving us. So one of the main things that Carol spoke about is that you must always take time to tend to yourself first before helping everyone else.

She spoke about the analogy of filling thy cup up first, that Iyanla Vanzant spoke about on one of Oprah Winfrey's life classes. Carol shared that when you are able to give to yourself fully, and your cup runs over with love, then all that runs over can be for your family. But if your cup is empty, what are you actually able to give them?

And another thing that she highlighted is being 'care-frontational'. This is another teaching from Iyanla Vanyant. She said that as women we are scared to stand up for ourselves because we don't like confrontation.
