New Year, new face? The Weeknd has finally taken the bandages off and everyone is shocked!

While you might be thinking that you are currently looking at the face of a patient on an episode of 'Botched', this is in fact Abel Tesfaye, aka The Weeknd.

Like many artists before him, the singer has gone in different creative directions for each of his albums.

With every new era of music he has released, he has told a story.
From the actual music to the visuals and the stage performances, every part is connected in some way to the music he is putting out into the world.

With his latest album, 'After Hours', it all started with an album cover featuring his bruised, bloodied, and battered face, followed by him sporting a bandage on his nose:

This was followed by him donning even more bandages and medical-looking coverups during his appearance at the American Music Awards:

Everyone was speculating whether or not any of these injuries were real, but the artist confirmed that it was all part of telling the story behind 'Blinding Lights'.
He told Esquire: "You want to see someone at night, and you’re intoxicated, and you’re driving to this person and you’re just blinded by streetlights, but nothing could stop you from trying to go see that person, because you’re so lonely. I don’t want to ever promote drunk driving, but that’s what the dark undertone is."

But his latest, much more disturbing reveal has left fans speechless and everyone wondering - is it real?
Although The Weeknd is yet to confirm or deny the speculation, one company has claimed that they are responsible for this terrifying transformation:

As far as we know, his latest music video for his single, 'Save Your Tears', is the reason for the dramatic facial changes.
