This is the strangest thing you’ll see today!
A fisherman off the coast of Indonesia discovered a mutant baby shark. It appears to have the face of a human as a result of a rare condition – and the images are freaky!
Abdullah Nuren made the shocking discovery when he set out from Rote Ndao in East Nusa Tenggara on Sunday, February 21. While on his fishing routine, the fisherman caught a pregnant shark who had died after being tangled in the trawler.

The fisherman discovered that the shark was pregnant with
three pups. When he cut open the shark’s stomach, one pup stood out.
Nuren realised that one pup seemed to have some sort of condition after
discovering its unique appearance resembling that of a human face.
Sharing his discovery in a video, the fisherman takes the baby shark and places it in a paper box while showing the camera its belly. Shockingly, the unborn mutant pup has its eyes right under the pointed snout, rather than at the side of its head. With its mouth open, the shark appears to have a face resembling that of a human.

“I initially found a mother shark caught in the trawler net,” the fisherman says of his discovery. “The next day I split the belly of the mother shark and found three pups in the stomach. Two were like the mother and this one that looked like it had a human face.”
Dr David Shiffman, a research scientist at Marine Stewardship Council, says that the unborn pup’s face is a result of a birth defect. "This is not a thing I study, but some experts I follow are reporting it may be a case of partial Cyclopia (do not Google this while eating) with one fused orbit but still two eyes. Assuming it’s real, it’s some kind of birth defect and not a new species.”

The fisherman continues by saying that he took the mutant
shark home to his family who helped him preserve it. “My home has been crowded
with people who want to see the shark,” he says. “Many people want to buy it,
but I will preserve it instead. I think it will bring me good luck.”
