Mom explains why she keeps her kid on a leash

In our world, can we blame her for wanting to keep her child safe?

Keeping your child safe is a parent's number one priority. Naturally, this means you will do anything to ensure your child's safety

As a parent, you know that children tend to run around and investigate; their curiosity is cute but can also be dangerous, especially if they wander off while you are shopping or out for a walk.

This could be why many parents purchased child leashes when they first came out. These were a means of safety.

A mother shared a video of her daughter in what she calls her 'wings', also known to many as a child leash

She expressed that many parents ask her where she got the butterfly wing leash from, while many non-parents judge her. Amber Henry, the mother, shares that she does not let naysayers get to her because the leash ensures her daughter goes home with her.

Henry indicates that by using the leash, she is ensuring her child's safety.

"Regionally, child trafficking is quite common in Africa, particularly West Africa, where nearly all human trafficking victims are children. Child trafficking is also widespread in Asia's Mekong region, which includes Cambodia, parts of ChinaLaosMyanmarThailand, and Vietnam." (World Population Review)

However, this doesn't mean that countries like the USA are exempt from child trafficking.

According to the World Population Review: "One of the best ways to decrease child trafficking is to teach children to be wary and educate them on the warning signs and risks associated with child trafficking, including grooming and extortion. Strong laws against child trafficking are a helpful deterrent, as is a high rate of conviction for those caught trafficking."
