Having the patience to watch something grow takes a certain kind of mental energy. It's definitely not for everyone, but it brings a sense of inner growth, a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment.

It has a very innate symbolism with self growth. Because it takes patience, nurturing, positivity, and love. If you have tasted store bought produce in comparison to fresh farm produce, you will understand that key difference between the two.

So when we heard about this story of a young boy who is so passionate about gardening, we had to feature his story. Yarshan Kumarasamy is an eleven-year-old boy who is the proud owner of a greenhouse that is filled with fresh vegetables and fruits.

"His love for gardening started when his mother brought home the Checkers Little Garden plants." (Highway Mail)

We have to say that this was a great promotion from Checkers, it created a sense of excitement over getting a gift with a purchase, but also encouraged children to get outdoors and be a part of nature.

His beaming excitement comes from the fact that seeing something that you have planted, grow and eventually bloom, is such a full circle experience. It supports the saying, that what you sow you will reap, and if you are familiar with this phrase, then you will understand that it is all about growth and nurturing and staying motivated on your life path.

Witnessing the plants grow was an encouragement for him, and pushed him to want to plant more. It seems that Yarshan wasn't the only one who was excited about his plants growing, the monkeys were also excited and weren't shy to eat up all his fruits and veggies from his garden.

Then this past September, for his birthday, his father bought him a greenhouse.

"In addition to this, other family members brought him seeds and decorations. The green house, which he tends to, is filled with herbs, strawberries, blueberries, cabbage, spinach, chillies, brinjal and lettuce." (Highway Mail)

Yarshan shared that his love for gardening was inspired by his late grandfather, who passed away earlier this year due to COVID-19. Yarshan is a pure example of goodness, he shares the ripened fruits and vegetables with friends, family, and the community members; sharing that it brings him joy knowing that his harvest helps provide people with food.

We loved this story so much because it shows the true kindness that our children remind us to live by. A trait that is sometimes forgotten in the hustle and bustle of our busy lives. Thank you, Yarshan, for teaching us about passion and kindness.
