LISTEN: Russia attacks Ukraine. Carol Ofori asks: How will this impact South Africa?

As everyone feels the unease surrounding this attack, where do we sit in it all as South Africa?
From looking everywhere and seeing death in all its certainty, you would think that the pandemic taught us a thing or two on how we should be living. But the reality of life is that when it comes to politics, there's always going to be some sort of unresolved conflict.
In this case, it's Vladimir Putin's problem with Ukraine. According to Professor John Stremlau from the Department of International Relations, School of Social Sciences at Wits University, we all will be affected by this declaration of unease.
The effects are both political and economical and could raise prices of oil, therefore having ramifications on everything... including rumours of petrol prices reaching R30.00 a litre.

As we hear about explosions, it leaves everyone feeling even more stressed. However, Ukraine leader, Volodymyr Zelensky, has reassured his people not to panic.
Professor Stremlau shares his opinion that no one thinks that Ukraine nor any NATO countries want to declare an attack on Russia, but what happens now?
