KZN man shares how he lives at a shelter on social grant
Updated | By East Coast Radio
Quinton, a man who lives in a shelter, shared how he makes R350 work for him on a monthly basis.
Life hits people differently.
Carol Ofori asked KZN last week how they stretch their money each month and Quinton from Shelley Beach called in.
Quinton shared how he has to spread out his money very sparingly. Over and above living at the shelter, he manages to stretch his government grant of R350.
Not only did he touch Carol Ofori's heart, but he also remains humble sharing what life was like living at the shelter.

He went on to say that meeting different people at the shelter and hearing their stories is just a reminder "that life can be a bit unfair but you can work your way around it if you work hard and be positive," he says.
Quinton also shared that he lost his job after the pandemic and was unable to keep up with his rental payments.
He works as security guard at the shelter and that's how he pays his dues to have a place to sleep at night.
