Finding the silver lining in adverse situations
Updated | By East Coast Radio
The lighthearted nature of people who have been through the worst is what gives us hope as a nation.
The floods in Kenya that have caused people to be uprooted from their homes have had a devastating effect not only on the people of Kenya, but also the world over.
We experienced similar heartache when the floods hit KZN in 2022. Many people are still living through the aftermath of the floods and the effects that came with it.
Over and above the floods in Kenya, Dubai (United Arab Emirates) and Brazil have also been experiencing severe floods.
As much as natural disasters can have such a devastating effect on people, it's all about perspective.
We came across a video that shows a man removing his shoes and diving into a pool of water which is in effect a flooded sidewalk. The poster of the video indicates that this is somewhere in Kenya.
The video post copy reads: "Welcome to Kenya, the land of all possibilities and good vibes."
We agree with the sentiment because if this man is in fact from Kenya, the way he approached the flooded sidewalk says a lot about his demeanour.
Allowing negative things to get to you is all about mindset and how you perceive things.
