It's the end of an era for McDonald's Happy Meal toys as they go green

What did you enjoy more, the search for the toy or actually playing with the toy?
Did you know that "today we produce about 300-million tons of plastic waste every year" (UN Plastic). To put you more in the picture, think about this, 300-million tons of plastics is equivalent to the weight of the entire human population.
With that being said, the effects aren't just hurting our marine life, it will eventually devastate us as humanity. So to see brands we love taking time to transition into the world of being more environmentally green, gives us hope.
McDonald's recently announced that the icon plastic toys that are hidden in the Happy Meal boxes will be discontinued soon. All in an effort to move away from using plastic and transitioning into a pro-green brand.
As much the best part of these meals is the excitement in finding out what toy you got and adding it to your collection, the chicken nuggets and the famous McDonald's fries was also appealing...

"But by the year 2025, children will no longer be able to find a plastic toy inside the iconic children’s meal as the fast-food giant plans to become more eco-friendly. Earlier this week, McDonald’s announced their plans to scrap plastic toys from the meal but it isn’t all bad news as they will be replacing plastic toys with toys that are made with more sustainable material." (MSN)
The good news is that they are not bidding farewell to toys altogether, but rather to plastic toys. So they will be looking at sustainably-designed toys going forward.
