"Without a beach, what’s the point in going on a beach holiday?"
Finding stories that remind us to stay positive can be difficult. Sometimes there are those days that just deflate you. There's nothing that can redeem you...
But that's what we are here for. We are here to remind you that when times are tough, that is when you have to show up even more. You have to pick yourself up, push forward, and find your greatness.
That's what this restaurateur did, he honed in on the bigger picture and didn't let the host of obstacles press him down.
"Duncan Heafield, the owner of the popular beach bar and restaurant, Bellezar, said it hasn’t always been smooth sailing since the inception of the eatery and, that re-invention was what helped him keep his business afloat." (North Glen News)

Since his business relied on the support of many tourists and holidaymakers, he was hit hard, like many others during the unrest. But he did not let this be his end. Many of his staff were from the hard hit areas, and it all snowballed, with their family losing work and being in the midst of the danger.
But they used their circumstances to the best, by supplying the security guards with coffee and meals.
Some hotel security could not get home. We persevered and utilised whatever in-house supplies we had. The one thing about us South Africans is that we are resilient. As communities, we came together and took care of each other. We built each other up- Duncan Heafield
The perfect way to end off! You see why we say we need to share these kinds of stories more... It helps us put things in perspective, nothing is bigger than us.
