INSPIRING: Sho Madjozi releases traditional clothing line for kids
Sho Madjozi launches her mini heritage clothing project that hosts traditional kids' clothing from Venda, Tsonga, and Sepedi heritage.
Sho Madjozi, real name Maya Christinah Xichavo Wegerif, is a Tsonga rapper and we love her eclectic and boho-afro style. She brings elements of her culture alive through her performances and her style. It's a colourful portrayal of what she feels represents her cultural attire.
When we heard about her online kiddies traditional clothing line called, Mini Heritage Project, we knew that this was befitting to her brand. It not only came out just in time for Heritage Month, but it also represents a part of South African culture that sometimes gets lost.
She was interviewed saying that one of her aims with this project was to make things easy for parents when it came to finding traditional attire for their kids.
"I wanted to make all the outfits, from head to toe, available in one place," she said.
"She wants kids to be proud of their culture, feels connected to them, and thinks it’s a great idea for them to explore their culture," reports MSN.

Sho Madjozi admitted that it was not easy to coordinate this mini heritage project because most of her team members were all in different places. She found local women to produce the outfits and has mentioned that they have worked hard to make the garments affordable and easily accessible.
She has an online store, where she has beautiful imagery of the clothing, which are categorised according to the different cultural attires. To make things easier for everyone, she felt that an online store would be ideal as parents could peruse online and just pay for the shipping.
