"I don't think they understand the concept of being in a coffin"
Updated | By East Coast Radio/ Udesha Moodley-Judhoo
A bit too morbid for our taste, but hey, each to their own...
We have seen some crazy trends, but the truth is that some of them just take things too far.
Last year, we saw a matriculant from Umhlanga deck out a trolley and arrive at her matric dance in the trolley. This really got people talking, and it was headlined 'smart' due to the petrol hikes.
And now we see the most deadly approach to a fun night with your peers - arrival by coffin.
An awakening we were not prepared for, but one that has definitely captured people's attention.
A Twitter post by Lebogang that was posted last October showed a young lady arriving at her prom in a coffin.
Yes, a coffin, those wooden boxes that we lay people to rest in.
We asked Carol Ofori what she thought of this and this is what she had to say:
These days, people will do anything for the likes, anything to go viral. I don't think they understand the concept of being in a coffin and what it really means. I think they are really childish and should really think hard about their costumes. But I guess it's done and dusted and has gotten the likes.- Carol Ofori

It seems it has become something of a trend, as another teen was seen arriving at her prom in a coffin.
The thing with this teen is that she did it in honour of her grandmother, who approved the outrageous idea just before passing away.
She slayed with the gothic look and even got carried out of the hearse. Check out a snippet of her arrival below, courtesy of TikTok.
