Girl shares video of snake facing off with her dog
Mzansi is angry over a girl who kept her dog tied up in the heat while a snake threatened it.
Regardless of what anyone says, how you treat your pets says a lot about the type of person you are.
A viral video has sparked outrage across South Africa, leaving many angry and disappointed by the way a young woman treated her pet dog.
In the TikTok video, a dog is seen chained near a kennel, barking frantically as a snake coils in a defensive position. Clearly distressed, the dog paces back and forth, desperately signalling for help.
Meanwhile, instead of intervening, the woman filming the video remains inside the house, capturing the terrifying moment on her phone.

The snake lunged at the dog several times but failed to strike.
While the standoff was terrifying to watch, it was also a natural encounter. In the wild, without human intervention, the dog and snake would have had to navigate their interaction on their own.
The young woman behind the camera screamed in shock, calling out for her mother or anyone nearby to help.

Somehow, just when you think things can't get worse, they do. The girl uploaded a follow-up video showing what happened to the snake, but TikTok removed it from the platform.
She explained that her neighbours stepped in to help by setting the grass on fire, ultimately killing the snake. However, this response sparked outrage, with many people criticising how the situation was handled and arguing that both animals were mistreated.
Concerned viewers flooded the comments, asking if the dog was safe. She briefly responded that the dog was fine but didn’t offer any further details.
