"Get a shot and have a beer!" - President Joe Biden announces new incentives
President Joe Biden has announced a month-long vaccination rollout that will aim to vaccinate 70% of Americans. The highlight for many is that he has incentivised the vaccination rollout with beer!
As the world deals with the COVID-19 pandemic, we find many people queuing up to get the vaccine, others are at odds about whether they should or shouldn't, and then there are those who are attracted to it by all the bells and whistles (not in South Africa).
Many countries have started placing incentives when it comes to encouraging their residents to get vaccinated. America is one of them. Previously, we have heard about chances to win the lottery, game tickets, and now there's even free beer!
President Joe Biden has set the country off on a month-long effort to pull out all the stops to free Americans from the virus and get 70% of the population vaccinated by July 4th.
The 4th of July marks Independence Day for all Americans and he is urging everyone to get vaccinated so that they can return to some sort of normalcy in time for the summer holiday.
“The more people we get vaccinated, the more success we’re going to have in the fight against this virus,” Biden said from the White House. He predicted that with more vaccinations, America will soon experience “a summer of freedom, a summer of joy, a summer of get-togethers and celebrations. An All-American summer.” said President Biden, reports AP News.
