Five things every kid wants to do for Christmas with their parents
Updated | By East Coast Radio
Remember that as much as you have to work, your kids won't be the same tomorrow, so savour the moments you have with them.
Christmas reminds us to press pause and shift focus to the things that matter.
One of the most important things that we treasure is family. So, we encourage you to spend more time with the people you love and who love you.
If anything, that time together will leave you feeling replenished and rejuvenated for the new year.
We came up with five things you should do with the kids this Christmas holidays. These activities will leave them feeling the magic of this time of year.
1. You have to write a letter to Santa with them. We're not sure about your beliefs, but writing a letter to Father Christmas is something we feel helps kids build their sense of imagination. And if you are from Durban, there is an Elf House in Durban North where your kids can post their letters.
2. It's that time of year to give and share with those that don't have. So, encourage a toy and clothes clean up with the kids. Get them to sort their toys and belongings into a donation pile and take them to a home or non-profit to donate.
3. Free your creativity. Get down and dirty and make cute Christmas cards and decorations for family and friends. You can even get the kids to post them, that will be quite exciting for them.
4. Bake Christmas cookies. This is a must for parents and kids. With inexpensive ingredients, you can make the kids feel the spirit of Christmas by getting them involved with making cookies. You can even do a Gingerbread house and decorate with them.

5. Clean up a public space in your area. This is the perfect time to teach your kids about community work. What better way than to clean up community spaces, even taking them to the beach for a clean-up is also a great idea.
We hope you found these interesting and will try them out with the family. Happy holidays and stay safe!
