DYK: It's more cost effective to have your groceries delivered than to go shopping...

Our parents always said nothing good came out of fighting...
In a world where adaptation and evolution go hand-in-hand, we have to say that it's pretty difficult to willingly live under a rock. When the first hard lockdown hit in 2020, it came as a shock to the world.
The extremists and conspiracists were prepared, but the rest of us, we were shook. We had to adapt, we had to find a way of live within the circumstances. The basic necessities had to be met so people went out and panic bought...
Two years later, we cannot even afford to do that.
When it came to food, we're not sure whether it was just lucky timing or they got some intel from the universe, but Checkers launching their food delivery service, Checkers Sixty60, was indeed at the perfect time...
There definitely is a market for it now. Even those consumers who preferred to do their shopping in person changed over. Perhaps not so much because they wanted to, but more because they wanted to stay safe from a pandemic.
With that being said, the idea of using the Checkers Sixty60 app sounds even more appealing with the upcoming rise in petrol costs.
"Checkers has calculated that the average Sixty60 customer saves 33% on fuel and vehicle running costs by shopping via the app and paying the R35 delivery fee. If a customer made this trip, it would cost them R52.57. Compared to Sixty60’s R35 delivery fee, this realises a saving of R17.57 per trip." (Business Tech)
⚠ Confirmed by the @AASouthAfrica: R52 is what it costs the typical South African to drive to-and-from a grocery store. With petrol prices going up, it's cheaper to get it delivered! #Sixty60 pic.twitter.com/xbrbNuakUk

As we adapt in trying to cope with the rising fuel costs and its ripple effect, we are somehow forced into finding more economical ways of living. One very key way is online shopping...
Check out some love for the app on Twitter:
I want @GiftoftheGivers and whoever is responsible for the Checkers Sixty60 app to run this country, please.
