Durban's Greenwood Park outdoor gym open for the community
A perfect addition to the community that allows residents to spend more time outdoors whilst also exercising.
It is positively inspiring to see communities that stand together for the upliftment of their surroundings.
Recently, one of our communities had a win and it was celebrated online by their ward councillor, Bobby Maharajh, who shared photos on Facebook.
In the post, we see The Greenwood Park Outdoor Gym which was officially opened on Friday, 26 April 2024.
According to The North Glen News, Maharajh said: "The funds for the project came from the critical infrastructure project (block sum) budget. There are many positives when it comes to the use of outdoor gyms, and I am certain the Greenwood Park community will benefit from this. Not only does it promote social cohesion, it also encourages a healthy lifestyle and keeps the youth busy and away from possibly engaging in social ills."
