Durban security officer helps woman give birth

A woman who was screaming outside the gate of a residence on Bailey Road, Avoca, prompted the residents to call their security reaction company for help. It was revealed that the woman lives on the street and had gone into the community for help.
Marshall Security dispatched their Armed Reaction Officer once they received the call and once the officer got to the scene, he had found the woman in active labour and screaming in pain.
We were shocked when we heard this too. Fortunately, the reaction officer, Bradley Govender, calmed the mum-to-be down and guided her into breathing exercises. He tried to assist her by giving her some water and he kept talking to her.
“By the time the medical officers arrived at the scene the reaction officer had assisted the woman in giving birth. The officer took the child, wrapped it in an insulation blanket, and took it to his vehicle. A nurse who lives in the community, who also came to assistance of the screaming woman, was on hand to assist with the child but by the time she arrived the baby had been born. She assisted Govender in keeping the child warm and safe,” said Marshall Security community support spokesperson Andreas Mathios, via The South African.
We are so happy to hear that the community came together to help this mother and baby. It was also revealed that the baby and mother are in a stable condition. Another example of all's well that ends well...
