Durban Car Hooter Challenge at Suncoast Casino entrance
Updated | By East Coast Radio
We love how Durbanites can come together for a challenge in a wholesome and hearty way...
We're not sure how the Durban Car Hooter Challenge came about, but we know that it is something that has brought motorists together.
TikTok has been a source of several challenges since its creation; some have been a hit with users while others haven't quite hit the mark.
In South Africa, when you toot your horn or hoot at someone, it is usually to say hello, thank you, or show off your frustration.
But this car hooter challenge was all fun and games.
A user decided to take part in this challenge while waiting in traffic to enter one of Durban's favourites, Suncoast Casino. In the video, we see several cars patiently waiting their turn to enter through the main entrance at Suncoast Casino.
Then one motorist decided to hoot a tune with their hooter and it was like a hoot-off challenge. As one car hoots a tune, another responds with another version of the tune.
It was a delightful thing to watch, seeing motorists being lighthearted, instead of getting frustrated in the traffic.
