Dog looks ‘like a different breed’ after owner decides to groom her at home

Social media has been left in stitches after one woman shared her botched attempt at grooming her Yorkshire Terrier at home.

As a result of the pandemic, many are still choosing to groom their dogs at home as a precaution to limit interaction with people. So, when Fernie Montafur decided to do just that, she thought the process would be simple. However, after unveiling her botched attempt on social media app TikTok, users have commented that the dog looks five years older!

 In the video, which has been viewed more than two-million times, Fernie does an unveiling of her dog’s new look – but no one expected the animal to look the way that it did after being groomed.

The video starts with Fernie showing off her dog before it was groomed. Then she showed off her efforts in shaving her furry friend.

The woman applied a clown filter on her face and captioned the video, "Not me thinking I could easily cut my dog's hair and save me $50." In the caption, she added: "Please for the love of God, don't come at me. I genuinely tried my best and feel horrible. I'm buying her an outfit tomorrow."

Social media users have been in stitches at the reveal, claiming that the dog “aged five years” in a single grooming session. "How did you go from a Yorkie to a Chihuahua?" one user asked. Another added: "From Yorkie to 12-year-old dog found on the street." A third joked "That was a hate crime."

Luckily, Fernie has seen the funny side of the comments. "These comments have me wheezing. Listen she's okay,” she says. "She was shocked at first but now she's vibing."
