DJ Zinhle gets candid on partnering with the Breaking Bread Good Friday project
Updated | By El Broide
The popular DJ will assist the project aimed at feeding over
1,000 people in KwaMashu this Good Friday.
As the country prepares to celebrate Good Friday, the NS Impact Foundation, alongside ambassadors Masego “Maps” Maponyane and DJ Zinhle, will prepare meals to feed over 1,000 people in the KwaMashu community, north of Durban as part of their Breaking Bread Good Friday project.
The foundation will also give away over 200
bags to the less fortunate on Saturday in KwaMashu and Durban Central. The bags
include materials such as raincoats, reflectors, personal care goods, sanitary
pads, and blankets to alleviate the hardships of living on the streets.

DJ Zinhle explains that teaming up with NS Impact Foundation was a no-brainer for her. “This is a project that is very close to my heart,” DJ Zinhle says. “The project encourages people to do one good deed a day like giving the lady at the stop sign a packet of pads or a loaf of bread and consciously thinking of doing one good deed a day.”
The star has called upon anyone wanting to assist the organisation in any way to get in touch, adding that any help will be greatly appreciated.
The recipients of the meals on Good Friday will include the elderly, destitute, and homeless. They will be treated to a heart-warming meal, cooked by Chef Mbombi, dubbed the African cuisine chef.

Nosipho Fakude, CEO of NS Impact Foundation adds that “Hunger is one of the most pressing issues facing the destitute and to combat this issue, NS Impact is creating awareness through a campaign called Breaking Bread by giving away 1000 meals on Good Friday. Food not only nourishes us physically but also enhances our shared ideals. But rather than limit this momentous occasion to the KwaMashu community we want the whole country to partake in giving back and what better way to spread the spirit of Good Friday than by filling the belly of someone in need.”
