We are not joking, this is a real thing...
Carol Ofori shared a memory from her childhood about meeting Santa Claus, because it is definitely something that many parents do traditionally during Christmas time, you know, take the kids for a pic with Santa or Father Christmas.
She admitted that the memory of seeing her photo with Santa freaked her out a bit, we don't blame her, it can be scary to see yourself sitting on some arb man's lap...
We're just kidding, if you are a kid reading this. Of course it's amazing meeting Santa in person.

Behind the scenes, she found a peculiar news story. Yes, we know that peculiar things happen around this time of year, but this was to the point of disbelief. She found out that there is an actual Santa Claus training school in United States of America.
And more than that, there has been a drop in the numbers of Santas since the pandemic hit. We'll give you a moment to acknowledge that...
"After festivities were kept to a minimum last year due to Covid-19, parties are back for Christmas 2021 but the supply of plump, white-bearded men in red is way behind demand." (News24)
After sharing that there is a shortage of Santas in the US and the UK, Carol Ofori also noticed that there has also been a decline in the popularity of becoming a Santa Claus. There is an age restriction, .can you believe it, you have to be 70 years and over.
If you're wondering why, Carol shared it all on-air yesterday. She shared how much a qualified Santa earns in the US. A Santa earns between $6,000 to $10,000, which is around R95,000 to R157,000. So if you are over 70-years-old and love the magic of Christmas, then maybe you can enquire on what it takes to apply for Santa School.
