Did you get a fancy car when you matriculated? These guys did...

Tread lightly and remember, each to their own...
The hustle and bustle on social media and the news over the past week has definitely been ruled by matric results and the back-to-school stories. Quite symbolically, as some parents share their first days at school, others share their journey coming to an end.
And, of course, in true nature, we must admit that we have always taken the stance that each parent should own their own right to parent their kids. These parents definitely surprised their boys and most of South Africa.
The Sissou brothers have been receiving some attention online after a post showed them getting the keys to their BMW M135is. Their parents surprised them with brand new cars after they found out that they passed their matric.
Of course, there has been a mixed reaction from people online. But we have opted to take a fresh and grateful approach to the post, rather than engage in idle gossip.

As parents, it is only natural to feel like you want to spoil your kids, especially in a time when things like a worldwide pandemic threatened their studies. You want to show your children that with great effort, comes great reward...
So when we saw this surprise from these parents, two vehicles worth R800k each, we thought, good for them. We hope that these boys will drive safely and also will understand the value of their gifts doesn't lie in the monetary value, but in the trust value.
