Ceileigh Niedermayr, South African professional female MMA athlete

"My first martial arts
love as a child was karate..."
In this week's Woman Crush Wednesday, Ceileigh Niedermayr packs a punch into her everyday life. But it doesn't come without a challenge.
Ceileigh Niedermayr is a South African professional female MMA athlete training in Novagen Brazilian jiu-jitsu in Durban. She recently returned from a long break due to an injury and is excited to be back in action.
Ceileigh's passion for martial arts began when she was a child learning karate. This sparked her lifelong pursuit of chasing her dream of what it means to be a fighter. Her combat journey, as she calls it, led her to kickboxing and then MMA, which is Mixed Martial Arts.
Ceileigh has had the honour of competing and representing South Africa in several martial arts tournaments. In 2021, she turned professional and has a pro record of two wins and one loss.
I have fought at EFC in South Africa and have recently made a comeback (after a long time off due to injury) at UAE Warriors in Abu Dhabi. I have dedicated my life to martial arts and have overcome and faced a fair share of obstacles and challenges. Every time I face obstacles, it drives home how extremely passionate I am about what I do. I am so grateful for what I've gained through this journey, and I love sharing it with women and helping them believe in and discover their power through teaching from my home gym in Virginia.- Ceileigh Niedermayr
