Cause for concern? Woolies and PnP impose limits on cooking oil purchases...

It's the perfect time to reduce the amount of oil you use to cook...
There has been much cause for concern since the Russia and Ukraine war started.
Not just for these two countries, though.
Like any disagreement, it rarely only affects those directly involved. It has certainly affected people from all around the world, with the price of food, oil, and petrol skyrocketing.
As we have reached a moment of ease (somewhat), we hear that two big retailers are imposing limits on their cooking oil sales.
Could it be that we are panic buying? Or is this just a way of controlling their ability to supply sunflower oil since there is a definite uncertainty as to the supply from war-ridden Ukraine?
Whatever the reason, it is definitely something to be concerned about...
"Woolworths and Pick n Pay have become the first retailers to introduce buying limits on sunflower oil for shoppers. However, canola oil, which is also a staple oil in South Africa, is not affected." (Business Insider)
It seems we may have been correct in saying that this is their way of controlling the effects of panic buying. The commercial director for SOILL, owners of the B-Well and African Gold oil brands, Morne Botes, shared that there should be no concern as they will be able to ensure enough cooking oil for the country.

Perhaps with the rise in oil prices, we should be rethinking the amount of oil we are using whilst cooking? After all, it is a sure way of leading a healthier lifestyle, don't you agree?
We would love to know more about how much cooking oil you use in your home?
