Case of mistaken identity as wildlife official mistakes carrier bag for stray lion
Updated | By East Coast Radio
Is that the king of the jungle?
If anything, this story shows us that the mind is a powerful medium and can really play tricks on a person...
A farmhand reported that they saw a lion's face beneath a tree on their employer's land in Kenya.
There were cases of livestock going missing in the area, so it tied into the reasoning when the person saw the lion's face.

But sometimes things aren't as they seem at face value. Literally!
Three Kenyan wildlife officials were on high alert as they approached a homestead where reports of a stray lion had been reported.
"But that soon turned to astonishment when all they found was a shopping bag in a hedge - albeit one with a realistic image of a lion's head on it." (BBC)
The shopping bag had in fact been placed in the hedge by the home owner, who didn't want their avocado seedlings to dry out...
Talk about spinning a tale into something it's not... all in innocence though.
Guess it's better to be safe than sorry...
