Carol Ofori shows love for World Afro Day and shares her top haircare tip

Carol Ofori is an advocate for celebrating your beauty and all parts of you as a person, but even she has her days. It's not easy to appreciate what we have when we all in some way have been intimidated by the idea of what beauty is supposed to look like...

Oh, please, beauty is what we make of it and there is nothing more beautiful than a woman who appreciates what she has been blessed with naturally. Which brings us to World Afro Day, which was on the 15th of September.

What better time than now to share Carol Ofori's natural hair journey. She recorded her journey so that she could look back at the highs and the not-so highs that she celebrated as she grew out her hair naturally. 

It was also to motivate other women who sometimes find it hard to see themselves without a wig, a weave, extensions or chemically treated hair. In fact, it is not easy for any woman from all ethnicities to celebrate their natural hair. 

A woman's hair is her crown and when she feels confident with her hair, then it shows in every part of her. She could be wearing a big brown paper bag and if her hair was looking good and she was feeling good, then you best believe that she will be rocking that paper bag.

On the 15th of September, it was "World Afro Day, founded by Michelle de Leon to focus on change, education and the celebration of Afro hair. The theme for this year was “Celebrating natural black hair, empowering people with Afro hair”." 

There is a feeling that takes over our bodies when we see women celebrating their afros, owning them in such an empowering way. All that love, care, and the story that each strand of hair represents shines through when they wear their afros with such pride.
