If you're looking for fun school holiday ideas to keep the kids entertained this week, take a page from Carol Ofori's playbook.

We caught up with Carol to hear about her holiday plans with the kids, and she was excited to share what's on their to-do list.

The highlight of their break? Welcoming Carol's sister into town.

To kick things off, they're heading out for a boat cruise at the harbour – a classic Durban experience that's just as fun for locals as it is for visitors.

Second on their list of things to do during the holidays is visiting the KZN Sharks Board.

This isn't new to Carol and her family; her son has a keen interest in sharks, and she shared much about the fascinating information they learnt on a previous visit.

Once again, they're looking forward to seeing some sharks while learning about marine life.

Another must-visit on their list is uShaka Marine World. With Africa’s largest aquarium, thrilling water slides, exciting rides, and interactive animal encounters, it’s the perfect holiday outing to keep the kids entertained and happily exhausted by the end of the day.

Third on their holiday list is plenty of beach time. With Carol’s sister visiting, they plan to soak up the sun and make the most of Durban’s beaches.

Whatever your plans this school holiday, safety comes first. If you're heading to the beach, always check water conditions before swimming.

When out and about with kids, set clear check-in points in case someone gets separated and, if possible, use a smart device to track their location.

Stay safe and enjoy the break.
