Carol Ofori and family embark on real-life African adventure

The African adventures of Carol Ofori and family – the Zimbabwe edition.

Carol Ofori has always been a stellar example of what it means to be a proud African, constantly seeking to learn and explore more about the continent. This passion was evident when she released her first book collection, 'The African Adventures of Sena and Katlego'.
Earlier this year, she took that love for Africa a step further, embarking on an unforgettable adventure with her family.
Their destination of choice? Zimbabwe – a fitting pick for someone so passionate about promoting travel across the continent.
Having first visited Zimbabwe at 18 with a friend, Carol knew it would be the perfect place for her family’s first international holiday.
Take a look at some of the highlights from their trip below – courtesy of Instagram.
The Oforis were excited to experience the iconic Victoria Falls, and the experience left them in awe.
"To think that the falls belong to Zambia, but the majesty and beauty of them are in Zimbabwe (you have to leave Zambia to come and see them) is insane," says Carol.
She described it as a breathtaking sight that has to be seen to be believed, especially since the Falls were considered "dry" at this time of year.
Carol recommends hiring a guide when visiting, as it made the experience much more fun and informative.
When asked what their kids loved most about Victoria Falls, she said, "They loved the plane ride there and back, the hotel's food, accommodation, and pool. They also enjoyed the hotel's New Year’s Eve party."

Carol's book series, 'The African Adventures of Sena and Katlego', currently explores Ghana, South Africa (eThekwini), Chad, Eswatini, Egypt, and Uganda.
When asked if more African countries would be added to the collection, Carol enthusiastically confirmed, "Yes, absolutely. Zimbabwe would be a country I would write about next."
As for the Ofori family's next adventure?
"I’d love to take my family to Namibia. Swakopmund looks absolutely incredible and I know the country has some incredible beaches to enjoy. Egypt and Kenya are also very high on my travel bucket list."
