In the true spirit of celebrating all things amazing, Carol Ofori has set out to honour youth around South Africa who are doing great things.

She got a chance to speak to 13-year-old Boipelo Modikoe from Kloof High School. We could definitely learn a thing or two from this young lady who has been selected to participate in two world debate contests.

One in Bangkok in September this year and one at Yale in December. What an inspiring young woman she is...

The competition is aimed at encouraging young students from all backgrounds to discover new strengths and practice new skills, says Boipelo's mother, Noma Modikoe

She has created a Backabuddy page for her inspirational daughter, in an attempt to raise funds so that she may live out just one of her dreams.

The proud mama shared a bit about the competition on their Backabuddy page

"To inspire a global community of future scholars and leaders. My daughter has qualified for global rounds and she will be participating with qualifying teams from all of the regional rounds . They will be participating in a group of 3 learners from the same school and will all have in common great diversity, unabashed awkwardness, and the enduring sense of community at the heart of our program. The learners are currently getting coached at school weekly by their teachers to prepare for this competition."
