The beautiful spirit of a young girl with one leg racing with her crutches
Updated | By East Coast Radio
What an inspiration!
As we come to the end of an uplifting and ever-powering Women's Month, we have to take the time to acknowledge women from all walks of life.
Some are transitioning into warriors, others haven't found their warrior yet, and others are born with it.
We think that this young girl is the epitome of what a woman warrior is.
In a video that shows young girls lined up at the starting line of a race, we see one girl who is at the edge who doesn't look the same as the other girls.
She has one leg and uses a crutch. Nevertheless, she is ready to run the race the best she can.
As the whistle blows as an indicator to go, the girls all start running...
The girl with one leg gives it her all and strides along using her crutch for support. Many people came to the post that was shared on Twitter, stating that this was unfair.
Saying that this was nothing close to a true representation of a "warrior spirit" as it could lead to the young girl feeling inadequate, and so forth.

But we got the assignment of this post and wanted to elaborate on it. The thing is that this young girl could've easily requested to be in the race with her peers.
And as much as she came last, she gave it her all, and the time difference between her finishing the race and her peers (who have two legs) was mere seconds.
If that doesn't say something then there's not much else we can say, except, sometimes it's about competing and completing the race. It doesn't always have to be about winning...

This kid? She'll pick herself up, dust herself off, and try again tomorrow.

Sometimes it is not the winning that matters at all. The fact she showed up when it mattered, is what matters.

There are many many people who wouldn't show up in her situation and that is her victory.
We do not need warriors but we do need people with the courage and determination to triumph over adversity like this young disabled girl - she is an example to all of us.
