Updated | By East Coast Radio
"Every person is born with a dream, it is our responsibility to pursue our dreams and fulfill our greatest potential."
Having a dream that you yearn to make a reality can come with a host of challenges.
Sometimes those challenges can mean you go through some of the toughest times of your life.
But the good news is that there is always a silver lining, sometimes you just have to go through the tough times to appreciate the good.
Amir Abouelrous, an aspiring motivational speaker from Egypt, got in touch with us. He shared a special message that he wanted to direct towards students in South Africa.
You see, Amir travelled to South Africa in 2012 on a 30-day visa. His dream? To become a motivational speaker and to achieve his master's degree in physics.
It wasn't all rainbows and sunshine though. He faced many challenges and was even caught by an immigration officer, imprisoned, and deported.
His aim has always been to stay on his path, even through all the hardships.
And this is why he shared the below video with us, as a way of encouraging students and being the hope that they require.

He also shared a story of hope. This story inspires the concept of resilience and truly is a reason to always stay hopeful.
The fact that he managed to go through all of that and still attain his master's degree, even after being homeless, is a sign that you can achieve your heart's desires.
It just takes focus, hard work, and a willingness to keep your vision clear.
